

Gun Hazard has, to its credit, a much longer, deeper, and more developed story than Valken.

As such, it's no surprise that the games play so similarly. Although there is a sequel to Leynos for Saturn (and I've heard that it's very good), when it came time to make a Valken sequel they made a strategy game :( A remake of ASV is in the works for PS2, or so I hear!Īnyway, a bunch of the people who worked on Valken are credited to Gun Hazard's staff as well.

Eventually, Feng is drawn to the on-going war on terrorism and begins to search for the truth.Front Mission - Gun Hazard, is a mecha sidescroller, and spiritual successor to the Assault Suits series (of which you may recognize Assault Suits Valken/Cybernator and Assault Suits Leynos/Target Earth. With the passing of time, he becomes witness to hidden truths and accounts. soldier/officer Walter Feng, the player experiences his story as he deals with the aforementioned conflicts. In effect, it goes through conflicts seen in the previous games as the years pass by. Unlike the previous games which were fairly standalone, Front Mission 5 covers the time period from 2070 to 2121. New features to Front Mission 5 include friendly fire and the ability to recruit new pilots. Old features that have returned include the ability to upgrade parts and mission branching. The player takes part in turn-based missions, which pit their group of wanzers against enemy forces. Gameplay-wise, the game is a true return to Front Mission 2 roots while incorporating various features from Front Mission 1, 3, and 4. Such conflicts are waged with the wanzer, Front Mission-speak for mecha.

It brings the player back to a gritty futuristic world in which conflicts are waged between five world powers: the U.S.N., O.C.U., E.C., O.A.C., and the Republic of Zaftra. 5 /5Front Mission 5: Scars of the War is the fifth in Square's Front Mission tactical RPG series.
